Kelly Gronley was a Los Angeles California artist who designed custom sculptures. He Designed the Star
Award for the American Film Institute (AFI) which was awarded to actors
like Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks and is still being used today. The award featured a brass star on a black marble base, and it was first presented in 1973. After his military service, Kelly moved to Los Angeles and started his business designing custom metal sculptures and furniture for designers and galleries.
This sculpture is of the highest quality. Absolutely stunning 20" tall, with a thick solid polished steel ribbon. Original cost would have been in the thousands. Excellent condition.
